Side-hustle to full-time freelance
So here it is, my first official blog post, EVER!
Made sense to start with my journey, and like me there are probably many designers that have been in the same situation. Should I go freelance? How will I get clients? 2 of the many questions I asked myself for years before making the leap of faith and joining the freelance world. I was very fortunate to work for various large companies in the design team, collaborating with incredible like-minded designers and marketing executives. And for me these roles and people became the cornerstone to my successful start to freelancing.
They say “don’t burn bridges” during and when leaving a job. It’s so true, having great relationships with those you worked for and with was pivotal. Before taking the leap I reached out to those valued connections and the response was positive, heart-warming and reassuring that I was doing the right thing and I had support, including potential new clients and work coming my way.
